Pakistan — Lahore & Karachi

LVI approved isolation from time of entry of last horse. The following blood tests must be taken within 10 days of export:

• Coggins
• Piroplasmosis smear

All tests must show a negative result; if all horses are passed as fit to travel by the vet a health certificate will be signed off and completed so that the horses can be exported.

All blood testing and swabbing prior to shipment will be co-ordinated by BBA Shipping, as will all export paperwork. Any further details can be obtained from our office. Our specialist adviser for the Pakistan region is Sarah Mockridge.

India

Horses must enter an LVI approved isolation for 30 days prior to export. The following blood tests and swabs must be carried out prior to export:

• Influenza — between 14 and 30 days prior to export (can be 1st, 2nd,3rd or booster)
• CEM — 2 sets of swabs, at least 7 days apart, within 30 days of export
1. Colts & Stallions — (i) urethra (ii) urethral fossa (iii) sheath
2. Fillies & Mares — (i) clitoral fossa (ii) clitoral sinuses (iii) cervix/endometrium — non-pregnant and over 720 days old. ONCE ONLY
3. NB mares must not be >300 days in foal at time of export
• EIA Coggins — 1 blood sample within 30 days of export
• EVA (VNT) — 2 samples at >14 day interval, within 28 days of export
• Salmonella Abortus Equi (SAT) — 1 blood sample within 15 days of export
• Piroplasmosis (CFT or IFAT) — 1 blood sample within 30 days of export

Horses must be in a member state of the EU for at least 90 days prior to export. Horses must enter an LVI approved isolation for 30 days prior to export.

The following blood tests must be taken within 21 days of export:

• Coggins
• Dourine
• Glanders
• Piro (IFAT or CFT or cELISA)
• Salmonella
• Colts and recently served mares — EVA
• CEM swabs (if over 731 days)
1. Fillies & Mares — (i) clitoral fossa (ii) clitoral sinuses
2. Colts & Stallions — (i) urethra (ii) urethral fossa (iii) sheath
